He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under August Eisenmenger and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He then returned to Vienna and focused on genre painting, also creating some book illustrations. He exhibited regularly at the Vienna Künstlerhaus, and many of his works appeared in the "Gartenlaube" magazine and on postcards (source: Wikipedia). This painting, in portrait format, depicts a young woman in a pink dress holding the receiver of a wall telephone and seemingly engrossed in conversation. It measures approximately 44 x 70 cm, with a profiled frame approximately 60 x 87 cm. The frame has some anobiosis holes.
